Our research focuses on the development and application of pharmacometric models for anticancer drugs to optimise drug therapy for better patient outcomes. The models aim at integrating pharmacokinetic (PK) disposition, pharmacodynamic (PD) biomarkers and clinical outcome enabling simulations of unknown situations (e.g. new dosage regimens). Another focus is the development of risk models predicting adverse drug reactions in various clinical settings in order to identify patients in particular need of specific measures to enhance medication safety. In an interdisciplinary approach, our group contributes to the development of a health IT infrastructure capable of supporting IT-based medication safety for patients with polymedication („Medical Informatics Initiative Germany“).
